39th FantaFestival

After our screenings at Fastnet Film Festival in Ireland, It Has To Do With Me is continuing with its European Festivals circuit and we’re going to be screening at the 39th FANTAFESTIVAL in Roma, Italy!

Fantafestival is the oldest and one of the most important Italian festival devoted to genre movies: science fiction, fantasy and horror. It is held every year in Rome. During its long history, Fantafestival has presented and launched in Italy many filmmakers who later would become among the most popular in the fantastic film world. The list of guests of honor includes all the biggest names in the genre, from actors such as Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, John Carradine, Rutger Hauer, Robert Englund, to directors and producers like Roger Corman, Freddie Francis, George A. Romero, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Sam Raimi, Peter Jackson, and among Italians, Lucio Fulci, Riccardo Freda, Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava. Fantafestival is also among the founding members of the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation.

We’re honored to be screening at FantaFestival this year alongside with some awesome genre features and shorts! It Has To Do With Me will play on June 14th, Friday at the Nuovo Cinema Aquila at 415pm as part of the Official Shorts Selection Program.

1056 Metres Wrapped

I have wrapped production of my upcoming short film 1056 Metres earlier on in May this year in Singapore. 1056 Metres follows Ling and Yong, a pair of Malaysian siblings, making major decisions about each other as Ling seeks Yong’s willingness to donate his kidney to her at Yong’s adopted home in Singapore over one evening.

The project has been in development since 2017 and I am really happy that we have finally got it in the can. It has been a long time since I have shot something back in my home country which made this project an even more meaningful one. Thank you everyone for putting in their finest to realize this project. I am very excited to have this film finished and to present it to everyone.
