Viddssee

Happy to be partnering up with Viddssee in releasing some of my past short films online and joining their network of storytellers! The three films are A Family Portriait, El Gris Perfecto and It Has To Do With Me. This body of works were shot at different point of my life and in different places where I were. All of them of different genres; one is a creative documentary featuring myself, my mother and grandmother, another is a coming-of age story about finding a greater meaning in a place we live in and lastly a psychological drama noir which questions about our desires and perceptions. I hope you enjoy them.

A FAMILY PORTRAIT

A visual art documentary portrait of my family. It is an intimate and personal glimpse into three generations of Singaporeans in a family through their portraits and words that defines being here in Singapore.

EL GRIS PERFECTO ( THE PERFECT GREY )

A Singaporean-Spanish boy leaves Singapore and goes on a journey to Barcelona to discover more about his mother after her untimely death. Along the way, he meets different people and finds a deeper meaning to life.

IT HAS TO DO WITH ME

Too young to feel anything but anguish, Reuben's life of hedonistic privileges becomes an unbearable nightmare.

1056 Metres Wrapped

I have wrapped production of my upcoming short film 1056 Metres earlier on in May this year in Singapore. 1056 Metres follows Ling and Yong, a pair of Malaysian siblings, making major decisions about each other as Ling seeks Yong’s willingness to donate his kidney to her at Yong’s adopted home in Singapore over one evening.

The project has been in development since 2017 and I am really happy that we have finally got it in the can. It has been a long time since I have shot something back in my home country which made this project an even more meaningful one. Thank you everyone for putting in their finest to realize this project. I am very excited to have this film finished and to present it to everyone.
